16.10.15 Weekly Crunch!

This week we have very busy looking at persuasive writing, and yesterday learnt about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his ‘I have a dream’ speech!
Here are a few ‘dreams’ of our own that relate nicely with our marine conservation theme…
“I have a dream that the oceans will survive.”
“I have a dream that everyone will stop littering in the ocean!”
“I have a NIGHTMARE that people in the future won’t know what a fish is!”
Other goings on in Class 9 this week…
“In science we have been learning how underwater creatures have adapted to their ocean habitat and we have created some of our own.”
“In maths we looked at 3D shapes and made our own from nets. We also practised our addition, subtraction and multiplication methods.”
“In our topic lesson we looked at the Aztecs and found that if Cortes didn’t kill them in battle, then they died by smallpox!”
I found our last lesson about Internet Safety very helpful and effective. I’m glad that school provides these lessons. I feel so strongly about it that I am going to send an internet safety poster on gmail to everyone! Feel free to add anything if I miss something out!
Your persuasive writing looked great when I was in your classroom this week.
I loved creating our own sea creatures and making adaptations to all of them!
I loved learning about the Aztecs and putting the timeline into order.
