Super science! 

This week in science Miss Clayton posed the question ‘do people with the longest legs jump the furthest?’ We then designed and carried out an investigation to answer this question. We found that generally people with longer legs can jump further.

Finding fractions 

In maths this week we have been looking at fractions. We learnt what a fraction is and how to read fractions on a number line. We then used our knowledge of fractions and division to find halves of different numbers. We even went as big as finding a half of 3-digit numbers!

Marvellous Measuring…

On Wednesday afternoon, Class 8 undertook a scientific investigation in groups about shoe sizes. Each group chose a specific question, planned, measured and wrote up their investigation with some very interesting findings!

Halving in maths

Class 6 tried hard in maths this week to halve numbers including odd numbers! We realised odd numbers leave halves which was quite tricky to understand. Some of the children used cubes to help them, others used partitioning to split numbers to make them easier to deal with.
