The senses

The children have been investigating the 5 senses this week and all had a go at tasting different flavoured crisps, smelling spices, touching different objects, listening to sounds and carrying out an eye test.

Oliver’s garden

In English the children have been reading a story about a young boy who discovered lots of vegetables for the first time in his Grandpa’s garden. They have been creating their own vegetables patches using watercolour pencils!

Phonics stay and learn session

Parents were given the opportunity to watch the teaching of a phonics session to gain a greater understanding of how it is taught to their children. The last session is next Thursday (the 23rd) and there are still spaces left for Year 1 parents to sign up.

World Book Day

Pokemon Gym!

Due to the nature of our topic, we have decided to create a Pokemon Gym in the classroom where children can go to complete different exercises and take part in doing some yoga. They love it!

Goldilocks and The Three Bears

The children have been acting out the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears but by focusing on body language and tone of voice when speaking. They created some really good pieces of drama and we even witnessed some high quality ad-libbing!

Conscience alley

The children thought of reasons why the goats should have crossed the bridge and why they shouldn’t cross the bridge (from the trolls point of view). They shared theeir ideas with a neutral goat and that goat had to decide whether they wanted to cross he bridge or not!
