Football Reports – Lord Deramores 1 Park Grove 1

On a murky Tuesday afternoon, Park Grove played back to back football away league fixtures against Lord Deramores Primary School. In the first match, Park Grove started strongly with debutant Jake Coulby-Ackroyd’s impressive performance resulting in a calm and accurate finish into the bottom left hand corner. Lord Deramores quickly equalised and despite Park Grove’s best efforts the match ended in a 1-1 score draw.

Five minutes later, both teams met again with the overcast conditions eventually clearing. Again the match was very close with a lucky ricochet resulted in an undeserved opener for the home side. Luckily for Park Grove, the wave of pressure paid off with a well-placed finish by Robby Butler from an inch perfect corner from Louie Powell.

Star players across the two matches were Harry Metcalf whose clear calling and excellent close range saves kept Park Grove in both games. Jacob Martindale and Ben Bellerby were both rock solid at the back with excellent positional play.
