Week beginning Monday 14th October
English
In English we will be continuing to talk about harvest but thinking about people in different countries. What sorts of foods would they be collecting? Can you spot some different fruit and vegetables in the super market. Write a list.
Maths
We will be estimating and counting objects. You could ask someone to put a group of objects on a table. Make a good guess and the check your estimate by counting accurately. Remember to point and move the objects as you do.
We are going to be beginning to think about time and talking about our daily routines. We will be using time words like morning, afternoon and evening and earlier/later before/after. Draw some things you do before and after school.
Topic
Our topic work is still based mainly around Harvest. Keep bringing those objects in and we’ll show them to the class.
We’re still enjoying those WOW slips so keep them coming too.
Remember to wear ‘pink’ on Tuesday 15th October. We’re raising money for Breast Cancer Research with 50p donations on the day. You can always wear a ribbon or something small if you don’t have many pink clothes!
*Special request from the Early Years staff
Please can you help your child to practise fastening their coat independently. Thank you.
