We started this week with some delightful musical treats.

收件人  主题  Xicheng Li  (pronounced ‘See Chung’) came in to school with her beautiful Gourd flute. It is made from a gourd and bamboo and it made an amazing sound. We sang our Chinese New Year song to her and she thought it was charming. We hope she will come in again soon and seemed very keen to share her knowledge of  instruments. Her performance and presenation for us and the whole school really enhanced our learning about Chinese New Year. She described the celebrations that she has experienced in China and the instrument was so unusual and quite unique.

In the afternoon the Jacobis (Henry and Charlotte’s parents from class 2 and 4) took us on a ‘Polar Bear Hunt’. It was terrific. They played the cello and the violin and we joined in with the story. They were very impressed with our knowledge of Polar regions and our massive enthusiasm for learning. What a great way to round off our topic this half term.
