My first assembly as a school governor at Park Grove Primary school

I arrived at the school for my first ever assembly just as the children were entering the hall.

Each class entered in single file and in silence, they were all so well behaved. The best thing though was a large number of them were walking tall and looking so very proud of themselves. To see that in such young children was very heart-warming.

The work and attitude displayed by the children and being honoured through the assembly was a pleasure to see. The standards set by the school are high and that is clearly reflected in the work being produced by the children and to celebrate it in such a positive way clearly indicates to the children that hard work and a good attitude at school pay off.

It was my first opportunity as a new governor to get a real feel for the atmosphere within the school and it was a fabulous way to start my Friday morning. I can’t wait to get to know the children and staff better over the coming months and years.
