First day of High Adventure…

This morning, the excited Year 6’s waved goodbye to mums and dads and Park Grove to set off to the awe-inspiring High Adventure! Once we arrived, we were shown our rooms and faced the first challenge: making our own beds! (The most fearful of all activities here it seems!)

After lunch, all groups sets off on a local adventure walk, where we scrambled our way up hilly terrain, played ‘Predator’ and looked out from the top of a princess’ tower over the incredible surrounding countryside.

Dinner was a slightly controversial turkey Sunday dinner (on a Monday?!) with a chocolate bun for pud – and once we were all fed and watered, the egg-static Year 6’s moved onto the egg-cellent evening activity…the egg-citing Eggbert! But would any groups design and create a contraption to keep their egg from smashing, and have the opportunity to smash the egg instead on Instructor Keira’s head?! Well yes…two groups did!

All in all, what a cracking first day at High Adventure!

Looks great-thanks for the photos-much appreciated.

Sounds like the real life flood was rather exciting. Hats off to the teachers for sleeping on the floor-I think they deserve a medal or at least a good work certificate!

The first day was so exciting. I’m in some of those pictures! My team survived the egg challenge and Tia cracked it on Keira’s head! I feel so sorry for Keira!
