I became a Parent Governor in December 2017 and have lived in York since I came here as a student in 2001. I am a qualified, experienced secondary school English teacher and run my own private tuition business, teaching students from across York and around the world. I also founded and run the Red Box Project in York, which provides donated sanitary protection to schools for those students who may not be able to access it otherwise, with the intention of enabling those students to stay in school and not miss their education due to period poverty. Park Grove was one of the first schools to have a red box available to students.
My daughter has been at Park Grove since 2016, and my son will join her in 2019. My husband is a project manager, and as a family we love living in York and making the most of this beautiful city.
I’m a keen reader and writer of poetry and prose, and also enjoy running. I’ve recently taken up roller skating, a skill I think would have been earlier to learn as a child!
