Mean, Median, Mode and Range

What can you tell me about these mathematical terms?

About the Author
  1. Oleg

Mean is average median the middle number mode is the most of the number an range is the difference between the highest and lowest number.

  2. domininc

mean is when you add all the numbers up then divide by how many numbers there are
    🙂

  3. William

The mean is all the numbers added together and then divided by the amount of numbers there are. Which means it is the same as the word average.

  4. khai

i felt very confodent with my work it was easy like eatig maryland cookies and they are nice ol 🙂

  5. robby

i enjoyed it but some parts i found a bit tricky but when i did the first few questions i did really well and finished the task successfully.

Mean is average, the mode is the most common number, the median is the middle number and the range is the difference between the highest and lowest number.

When you are calculating the median, then you have to make sure you put the numbers in order and make sure that there is an even amount of numbers on either side of the middle number. If there is not then you need to pick two middle numbers, add them together and then divide the total by two. Then you will have your answer.

  7. mae

mean is add it together then divide by the amount of numbers
median is the number in the middle
mode is the number that there is most of
    and
range is the difference between the highest and the lowest number

  8. Layla

Range is the difference between the highest and lowest number.

  9. jake

mean is effectively average mode is the most common number median is the middle number the range is the biggest number subtracted by the smallest number

  10. Katy

Mode is when you find the biggest number and take away the smallest number. They are all very difficult to remember so I sing the song in my head to remember! 🙂

  11. Zuzanna

Mean- Add all the numbers together and divide by how many numbers there are.
Median- Median is the number in the middle but remember to put them in order!
Mode-Mode is the number that appears the most.
Range- If you want to calculate the range you have to subtract the biggest number by the smallest number!

  12. gaurie

    mean:is average
    median:is the middle number
mode:is the most common number in your data
range:is the difference between the largest and smallest number!

  13. Joseph

Mean: add up all the numbers then divide them by the amount of numbers there are eg. 1 3 6 6 =4 (mean)

Median: the middle number eg. 1 3 6 6 if it is like this you must add them together then half the answer 4.5(median)

Mode:the number that occurs the most eg. 1 3 6 6 six is the mode

Range: the biggest minus the smallest amount eg. 1 3 6 6 6-1=5(range)

  14. Ava

    Mean is average,
    Mean is average,
    Mode is most,
    Mode is most,
    Median’s in the middle,
    Median’s in the middle,
    Range high low,
    Range high low.

  15. Molly

i was only hear for the lesson about mean

Mean:is were you add all the numbers up and then devide by how many you added up 🙂

  16. Jaimie

Mean is the average – add all the values together and divide by the amount of values.
Mode is most – the most common number/numbers.
Median is the middle – put the numbers in order and work out the middle number/numbers.
Range is – the difference between the highest and the lowest number.

  17. libby

Mean: you need to add all the numbers together then divide by how many numbers there is 🙂

Median: for median to have to put the numbers in order then see if the is a odd or even amount of numbers. Even: 1 answer odd: 2 answers

Mode: is the most amount of the same numbers.

Range : you have to find the largest number and the smallest and subtract them together 🙂

  18. Jacob

    Mean is the average.
    Median is the middle number.
Mode is the most conman number.
Range is the difference between the biggest and smallest number.

  19. Tom.C

The mean means the average. The mode is the most common number. The median is the middle number. The range is the highest number take away the lowest number.:-)

  20. Alex

Mean: you have to add up all the numbers then divide the number by how many you added and that’s the mean
Median: first you put them in order then you find the one in the middle is there’s two add them up together then divide by 2 if it’s one leave it
Mode: mode is meant by the most of the same kind so if you had 4 numbers the most of one kind is the mode
Range: for the range you find the biggest and subtract it with the smallest!

  22. Jaimie

    🙂

    I m reely ingeoing mode!
