This week we have been investigating the mean, mode, median and range of different sets of data. How do you work out each term to calculate an answer correctly?!

Range: The range is where you find the biggest and subtract it by the smallest number.
Mean: The mode is when you add all the numbers together and divide it by how many numbers they are.
Mode: Is the number in a sequence that appears the most.
Mean: Is all the numbers in a sequence added together, then divided by how many numbers there are in total.
Median: The median is the middle value.
the mode is the most common number (the one you see the most). The median is the number in the middle e.g. 5,8,11,15,17,19 would be 13 because its in the middle of 15 and 17. The range is the difference between the largest number and the smallest number. for the mean you add all the numbers together then divide by the amount of numbers there are.
I found using the mode and range the easiest and the funnest.
The range is the difference between the smallest and the biggest number in a sequence.
(Example)
Sequence: 3 4 5 3 8 1 9
Range: 8
the range is the difference between the smallest and largest number.
the mean is all the numbers added together divided by the amount of numbers there is
the mode I think, is the number that appeears the most.
an the median is the middle number.
(please tell me if i am incorrect)
i think your right
You check it and make sure you have not made any silly mistakes. Also it really helps to put the numbers in an order of smallest to biggest to work it out.
I think that I did it correct 🙂
To find out the mean you have to add all the numbers together then divide it by how many numbers there are in the set of data.
it’s been intesting learning about the mean, mode, range and medium
it was fun
i liked doing the moode, median, mean and range
