Welcome back and Happy New Year!
We’ve had a super time so far this week. Everyone is fresh and ready to learn. We’ve got new hats, scarves and gloves and we’ve been comparing patterns on them.
We’ve even had a go at making a repeating pattern and the children were really good at this. We all did some writing on our first day back and shared stories about Christmas. We have some very lucky little boys and girls in our class who must have been very good last year! So many lovely presents!
May we say a big thank you for the beautiful cards and gifts we received. We shared them all and still have goodies in the stock cupboard (keep that to yourselves!). We’re also still sharing a few bits and pieces left over from the Christmas party. We do have a lovely time in Class 1.
Our new topic is well underway and the classroom is looking very ‘wintery’. There are so many new things to do and everyone is getting along beautifully, taking turns, sharing and working very independently.
In Forest Schools this week we made stick stars with five sticks which we had to break to approximately the same size. We’re weaving next week so that will fun too.
So much to look forward to!
Keep reading, completing the phonics and have a go at the maths challenges too if you can!
Well done this week!

It’s been a lovely start to the new term
