We have continued to read “Street Child” by Bertie Doherty and started to think about what life was like for Jim in the workhouse, particularly after the tragic death of his mother. All the children took part in a conscience alley drama activity where there were two lines facing each other, trying to convince Jim to either stay or leave the workhouse. There were some very persuasive reasons for and against this question!
