Spellings this week will focus on words containing the ‘ow’ sound. This will include words such as ‘clown’ or alternative spellings including ‘ou’ for ‘house’. Always encourage your children to practise writing these words in sentences as well to further develop and apply their writing skills!

The spelling this week are words using the sound ow as in owl and ou as in cloud.

Acting out a story.

In English we used different objects to help us make up a story. Some children had an old pot and other children had a hairy glove, a wooden spoon and a giant boot! The children were brilliant acting out their ideas and used very theatrical voices.

Making wiggly worms

As part of our minibeast topic we made wiggly worms out of jelly. We had great fun dissolving the jelly and pouring it into straws to make the worms.

Addition using a 100 square

We have consolidated our addition skills using a 100 square to add 2 digit numbers. Tomorrow are going to try using a empty number line.

We explored the structure of plants today and went into the forest to find different plants and leaves. Take a look at the work in our science books.
