After school running club conclusion

I believe that nobody could have predicted the amazing and truly enthusiastic response to the offer of an after-school running club this summer.

All in all 66 children (nearly a quarter of the entire school) joined in and participated for at least one of the four sessions.

The results are very remarkable:

The three top children managed an individual total of

1) 18.3km (11.37 miles),

2) 17.4km (10.81 miles) and

3) 15km (9.32 miles), respectively.

The minimum distance of any child, including the youngest ones, was 600 metres (four rounds).

The Grand Total of all children was 431.71km (268.25 miles), which means 6.54km (4.06 miles) average.
To put it in perspective, this is the distance from York to Portsmouth (plus several miles to spare!)!

Hats off to the children and everybody who helped, what a fantastic result of an event, which is hopefully to be continued!
