My name is Aimee Bell and I am the Green Class teacher and have been part of the Park Grove team since 2015. I have lived in York all my life but spent three years studying at University in Scarborough. I have always wanted to be a teacher from a young age thanks to many inspiring teachers who taught me and I love planning exciting and engaging lessons for my class. The experience of teaching pupils new things is incredibly rewarding and no two days are the same when working in a school! Now I have been at Park Grove for a number of years, it really feels like home as I know the staff, children and families really well (although teaching multiple siblings from the same family makes me feel old!)

Over the years, I have taught myself to play the guitar and I used to perform regularly at festivals and pubs, but not so much now! Despite being a teacher, I am still learning myself and I have weekly piano lessons which I really enjoy but it’s very challenging to read the music. I love bringing my passion for music into the classroom and as the music subject leader at Park Grove, I am honoured to be able to lead fun singing assemblies each week as well as choirs each year which I enjoy just as much as the children!

Outside of work, I like to read, eat out and cook delicious meals at home. I have also recently got into exercising and have found that activities like running, swimming and going to the gym give me much needed headspace after a busy day.
