English

We will be writing poems about the jungle and looking at how using different vocabulary can add interest e.g. instead of writing ‘said’ we could use ‘whispered’ or screeched’. We will also be looking carefully at punctuation within poems and how we can edit and improve our work.

Maths

This week in Maths we will be looking at missing number calculations. We will try to find the number using different methods. Can you ask an adult at home to write a calculation with a missing number? What is the missing number? Please bring it in to show us! We will also look at 3D shapes, name them, describe their properties and make our own using nets. Can you draw different objects around the home that are different 3D shapes?

Topic

On Tuesday we are having an enrichment day about Rainforests where we will be swapping classrooms and doing a range of activities such as music, art, writing and mapwork. What a great way to end such an exciting topic!

Next Week

After half term we will be changing our topic to food. Do you have a favourite recipe? Could you make it during half term and write a set of instructions to show the class?

Other Notes

Please ensure that all children have a full PE kit. A named white t-shirt, shorts and plimsolls.

Thank you,

Miss Plews, Mrs Hearson and Mrs Carr-Brion
