Curriculum

Intent

At Park Grove Academy, our curriculum fosters the holistic development of each pupil, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that champions individuality, creativity, and excellence.

  • Personal Development: Our curriculum empowers pupils to discover their interests, develop resilience, and cultivate self-worth, equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges.
  • Local Community Engagement: We integrate local history and culture, providing opportunities for pupils to connect with their community and contribute positively, fostering responsible citizenship and appreciation for diversity.
  • Well-Being: Prioritising mental and physical health, our comprehensive PSHE education programme promotes healthy lifestyles, emotional resilience, and the importance of seeking support, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Respect and Inclusion: We promote respect for all individuals and teach fundamental British values, equality, and diversity, creating an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive and differences are celebrated.

In summary, our curriculum intent is to provide a rich educational experience that supports the personal development of every pupil. By fostering well-being, respect, and community connections, we prepare our pupils for future success and empower them to be active, engaged citizens in modern Britain.

To achieve our vision, we focus on:

  1. Coherent Curriculum Design: Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure continuity and progression, allowing pupils to build on their knowledge and skills over time.
  2. Integration of Core Values: We embed our core values throughout the curriculum, ensuring that pupils not only acquire knowledge but also develop a strong moral compass and respect for others.
  3. Active Learning Experiences: We provide a variety of engaging, hands-on learning opportunities that stimulate curiosity and creativity, making learning enjoyable and impactful.
  4. Collaboration and Community Engagement: We collaborate with local organisations and stakeholders to enrich our curriculum and provide pupils with real-world learning experiences that connect them to their community.

Continuous Review and Improvement: We regularly review and refine our curriculum to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our pupils and aligns with national standards and best practice.
