I have worked in secondary education for the last 25 years. I started teaching music in London before moving to the North East and becoming first a Head of Department and later an assistant and deputy head. I am currently an Associate Director of Curriculum for Outwood Grange Academies Trust, working with a small team responsible for developing the curriculum across the trust.
When not working in education I play in and conduct orchestras across the North East and play traditional Irish music in ceilidh bands.
I am married and have two young children
