This afternoon, class 9 had a very tricky task – to try and create dance movements inspired by Victorian inventions.
We looked at inventions such as the camera, telephone, car and underground railway and compared them to the ones we see today. We then had to create movements, a freezeframe or gestures to represent that invention, before creating a whole improvised dance routine to beats of 4 that we performed at the end.
It was really impressive to see how each group’s improvised dance had been inspired by Victorian objects!
Class 9 – what was your favourite invention to recreate through dance/movement?
