Fun with fractions!

This week in maths, we’ll be learning all about fractions. First, we discussed that a fraction is equal parts of a whole shape, object or number. Today, we just looked at shapes and learnt about halves and quarters. To do this, we carefully folded the shapes in different ways then labelled the 2 or 4 equal parts with 1/2 or 1/4; some of us even managed to find 1/8 of squares and rectangles! Afterwards, we had to colour fractions of shapes too! We really enjoyed it, someone even said “This is the best maths lesson ever!”.
