Grace Barnes (Teaching Assistant)

Hi, my name is Grace Barnes!
I started my Park Grove adventure in 2021 as a volunteer and was lucky enough to be offered a permanent role in 2022. I’m from a small village on the coast in Teesside and have lived in York since 2017. Before Park Grove, I worked in the hospital pharmacy and it was during COVID I decided it was time for a change.
I work as a Teaching Assistant mostly in KS1 and have found it such a rewarding experience. Each day is a different experience and it’s such a joy helping children grow, understand and learn all they can.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going for walks and gaming, whether it be on my consoles or tabletop board games with my friends! I’m also very passionate about York’s local events, such as Pride or anything to do with its rich history.
