Health and Fitness in Outer Space, with Class 6

I had the great opportunity for another visit to Class 6 to learn, what the children had been working on over the last months.

Due to my own background we concentrated for almost an entire lesson on Health and Fitness of Astronauts, and how physically challenging it is to become and to be one. It was very impressive to experience how informed and engaged the entire class was, not just regarding knowing important facts on nutrition, hydration and exercise, but to actually think, consider and reason about what is good and not so good for us (or for astronauts). There was some great team work and discussion, so that everybody was included and could contribute.

I believe we all enjoyed the demonstration and fitness challenge at the end with the amazing “Isokinator” device, which, I think, could have the potential to transform fitness on this planet, and to really keep people in space strong and well.

Well done, Class 6 (and Miss Land)! It was very obvious, how much you have worked and achieved during the last term!
