Homework 14th October
English
This week we will begin looking at patterns on a page which is a poetry unit focusing on the different structures that poems can have. The children will explore a variety of different poem structures and group them accordingly. We will also have a go at writing our own acrostic and shape poems whilst performing these using expression! Can you bring in any examples of poems you might have at home which we can share in class? Write your own poem to read to the class.
Maths
In maths this week we will be looking at place value and what each digit in a number means, e.g. in 246 the 2 is 200 (hundreds), the 4 is 40 (tens) and the 6 is 6 (units). Can you write down some 2 or 3 digit numbers and write what each digit means? Please keep practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, both forwards and backwards. We are getting much quicker!
Topic
In Science we will be learning about our five senses. We will also be practising songs and words for our harvest festival. Please keep practising your words at home in a loud voice.
Remember on Tuesday (15th October) we are having a wear pink day to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. Please come in something pink and bring a 50p donation.
