Spellings this week will be focussing on the split digraph in words. These will include ‘a-e’ for cake, ‘e-e’ for delete, ‘i-e’ for fire, ‘o-e’ for home and ‘u-e’ for tube. In English we’ve been using a lot of exclamation marks and exclamation sentences to make our writing more exciting, so perhaps the children could use them in their sentences this week? (For example, ‘What a shame they I’ve dropped my cake on the floor!’)
