Week beginning Monday 25th November
English
In English we will be continuing our work on ‘Superheroes’. You’ve been on a special mission and we’ve talked about adventures, perhaps you could talk some more at home. What would you take, where would you go? You could ask an adult to be scribe and write for you. We’d love to hear some more ideas. We’ll also be developing our listening skills by playing games with sounds and words.
Maths
In maths we will be continuing our work on addition and subtraction in practical activities. We’re going to continue ‘taking away’ with skittles and ‘adding’ by throwing quoits into hoops and calculating how many ‘altogether’. You’ve also been playing with dominoes in class. Have you got a set at home you could play with?
Topic
We have really enjoyed making capes this week. We can’t wait to see you in them! We’ve used tea towel capes to go on adventures outside. This week we’d like to compare old and new toys. You could ask an adult you know well to describe their favourite toy when they were young. What was it made from? Old toys were often made with different materials than those of today. Use the attached sheet for this please.
Please remember to keep blogging.
Many Thanks,
Class 1 team
