In English we are still thinking about Christmas. Thank you for all your ‘Christmassy’ stories. We’ve really enjoyed sharing them. Next week we will be reading ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman’. We will be sending home some more phonic and handwriting practise in your new book. Keep reading at home too please!
Why not have a go at writing a letter to Santa? Perhaps you’ve done this already?
In maths we are exploring ‘length’. We’ll be making paper chains and exploring who has the longest, shortest chains as we do this. We are also beginning some work on ‘data handling’. We will be collecting information and displaying it in different ways. You could collect some information at home. Ask your family a question (favourite colour, Christmas carol) and decide how to show it.
And in our topic work……Thanks for the boxes and wrapping paper. We’ve had lots of fun this week in the new role play area. Any more contributions are very welcome to continue our play. You’ll be hearing our Christmas songs at home as we practise them more in class.
And finally…..if you are throwing away an unwanted Christmas tree as you get ready for Christmas please let us know.
Many thanks
Class 1 team
