Space competition – design a space meal
Space Meal Competition
To bring an end to our exciting topic we would like to invite you to enter the BBC radio 2 space meal competition.
The UK Space Agency has launched a competition for school children between the ages of 3 and 9 to design a British-inspired, balanced and exciting meal for British astronaut Tim Peake to eat during his 6 month mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
The winning contestants will be invited to develop their ideas further with celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal, and these ideas will be turned into real space food that will be launched to the ISS.
Entries must include an ingredients list, the recipe and a photograph of the meal.
The deadline for the competition is 30th June 2014.
Entry forms and the rules are available from https://www.gov.uk/government/news/the-great-british-space-dinner
If you would like a paper copy please ask your class teacher.
This is a wonderful project to do with your family in half term – we would love to see some of your ideas – please bring them into school along with your completed entry form and we can send them all off together (before June 25th please)
Good luck!
Class 3 and 4
