It’s been a busy and creative start to the week for all the children in Class 2. We have been writing cold and winter poems, creating winter collages and finding out about the life of one polar animal, the penguin. Year 1 have also been learning about where the Arctic and the Antarctic can be found on a map, while producing some fantastic maps of their own in the process. Can you remember what the Equator is? In Reception, the children have been building winter dens in Forest Schools, and have been learning that when it comes to keeping warm in the cold, penguins know best! Can you explain  to someone at home how Emperor penguins keep warm?

This Friday, we have our first ‘Stay and Play’ session of the term for parents of Reception children. It is a really good opportunity to find out what your child is doing in school, see how we use the classroom, and speak to the Early Years staff. We are holding sessions on Friday afternoons throughout the term, so, if you’re able, please sign up on the noticeboard outside Class 2.
