Touching history…
Posted On 29 Jan 2016
What an absolute treat we had in class 9 this afternoon! We have been lucky enough to actually touch a bit of Victorian history and looked at some real Victorian coins, an actual Penny Black from 1840 (plus a super rare Tupenny Blue!) and an old musical box called a Symphonium, which still played its music beautifully!
Thank you Mrs Metcalf for bringing these fantastic objects in and making our Victorian topic even more exciting!
And thank you to Mollie too for bringing in a real morse code machine, linking with her fantastic homework project about Samuel Morse!
I found it interesting to look at all the stamps.
They were great! I loved the music that the synphonium played after all those years.
I was really nervous when my mum came on to talk about the Victorian stuff but it went really well
