At Park Grove, the incredibly snowy weather wasn’t going to cool off how excited we were for World Book Day 2018, and it proved to be a fantastic day across the whole school! Here’s what each class were up to…

Class 1
“We all went in different costumes like pirates, fairies and ‘Dorothy’s. We made little hedgehogs and Percy the Park Keeper pictures. We went to assembly and the teachers chose the best costumes. Mr Bunny and his Chocolate Factory was the winner!” – Daisy, Heath and Isaac

Class 4
“I liked learning about the author Jacqueline Wilson and drawing one of her book covers. I also liked sharing my work to the school on the stage in the assembly.” – Ada

“I liked drawing a picture of my character, I dressed up as T-Rex. We also made little books and I got to take it home.” – Max

Class 6
“We read ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ and had an imaginative day creating our own medicines, poems and adverts for our potions. We enjoyed seeing a foaming potion being made in class!”

Class 7
“On World Book Day class 7 began the day with a WBD quiz which was lots of fun! After break we read the story of ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr (Miss Clayton’s favourite book)! We were then given the choice of making a film trailer on iMovie for this book or creating our own book in the style of Judith Kerr. We all enjoyed the different activities and presented them in a whole school assembly at the end of the day! It was an amazing day and we also enjoyed dressing up too!” – Henry, Rylie and Poppy

Class 9
“On Friday we celebrated World Book Day by studying author J.K.Rowling. First we looked at her book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. We created our own beast and typed it up to create our own book of Fantastic Beasts. We also had lots of other activities to do, like we created our own Chocolate Frog boxes from nets! At the end of the day we drew our own Dumbledore focusing on the proper proportions of the human body.” – Rosa, Mohammed and Anastasia
