On a bright sunny Monday afternoon, Park Grove Girls’ took to the pitch with their first ever match of the season against Hempland Primary School. It started as Park Grove dominated the ball whilst passing amongst each other. After 5 minutes of the game Ivy Tegetmeier passed the ball across the defence to Lucy Noble with a short fiercely kick which was punched out by the keeper followed by a perfect rebound leading to a 1-0 lead.

After some strong tackling and superb passing a great but unfortunate goal was scored by the Hempland attacker creating a tense neck-and-neck draw. Half time score 1-1.

Later on the second half commenced where Park Grove took possession of the ball with fantastic dribbling skills. Suddenly Hempland sprinted through our defence with another brilliant finish making the score 2-1. With some excellent saves from Nicola Nicholson, Park Grove were still in the game with a ball down the line from Olivia Gargan  to Mollie Furey driving down the line doing one, two passing with Callie Bradley. With the striking defence they sent the ball to the opposite side of the pitch with our keeper, now Aruma Wormald in goal but suddenly Millie Hughes saved us all by dropping back with amazing tackling skills.

It was a throw in to Hemplands with their striker on the ball with another great goal. Score 3-1.

Suddenly, Park grove got back in the game with a free-kick from Lucy Noble. Heading towards the goal, Chelsea Haskins had an open chance tapping the ball into the bottom corner. End score 3-2 to Hempland primary school.
