Helen Sellers (Teaching Assistant)

Hi I’m Helen and I currently work in class 7. A class I am proud to be a part of.  The children have made a positive start to the year and have impressed me with their hard work and excellent behaviour.
Before joining Park Grove in 2005 I worked for 4 years at Archbishop Holgate`s School as part of the learning support department and have also worked on an evening for York Youth Service.  I served as a governor at Heworth CE Primary School, a role I very much enjoyed. I had particular responsibility for SEN and health and safety within school.
Since working in schools I have gained a certificate in counselling skills, the L3 teaching assistant qualification,  HLTA status and a L4 diploma in child psychology, a qualification I very much enjoyed achieving.
I care very much about the health and well-being of the children in our care and love the opportunities we have to help them be the best they can.
On a personal note I am a mum to 2 grown up boys, the best and most rewarding role I have had in life. I enjoy live entertainment, in particular concerts and gigs. I also have a love of sewing and spend many hours creating quilts and tapestries.
