English

In English we are going to follow some instructions to make a star decoration. We have learnt a lot about instructions and the children now understand very clearly the need for clear and direct instructions when making or creating something from scratch. Can you write a set of instructions for cooking your favourite meal or making a new toy? We will also compose a letter to Father Christmas; have you been a good boy or girl? Write a list of things you might want to include in your letter.

Maths

In mathematics we will be rounding numbers to the nearest 10 including some 3 digit numbers. E.g. rounding 347 to the nearest 10 would be 350.

We will also be doing some problem solving helping the snowman get ready for his party.

Topic

This week we will be doing lots of Christmas related activities including our party on Tuesday.

Don’t forget ‘Toy Day’ on Friday and the earlier finish of 2.30pm

Keep checking the blog during the holiday – we’d love to hear about your Christmas. www.parkgroveprimary.co.uk

Next term our topic is Rainforests – can you do some research to find out where the worlds’ rainforests are and what they are like?

Happy Christmas!!

Mrs Hearson and Mrs Carr-Brion.
