National Coal Mining Museum Trip

Classes 6, 7 and 8 visited the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield on Monday 22nd as part of their Local Studies topic this half term. The children learnt all about coal mining in Yorkshire through the ages, met some pit ponies/horse and even went underground to experience what it is like working in a mine. We all had a really enjoyable day and learnt a lot! What did you like best about visiting the mine Class 6?

I liked it when we turned all of our torches off;it was really creepy!I also liked going down in the cage because it made a jolt and that was cool.I also was amazed that we were on the top coal mine .I didn’t know there was 3 more but I only knew that because we watched that video today in the morning!
