In English we will be continuing to develop our recount skills by writing about our transition morning and our trip to Greenfields Community Garden. We’ll be specifically focussing on the ‘5 Ws’ to include details about who, what, where, when and why. In maths, we will be developing our addition and subtraction skills and using methods such as an empty number line, partitioning and using a hundred square. We’ll also be revisiting capacity and using a range of containers to measure liquid. On Tuesday 5th July, we will be spending the afternoon completing a range of outdoor activities at Greenfields Community Garden in line with our current science topic of classification and the seasons. The following day, Wednesday 6th July, the children will be spending the morning in their new classes and getting to know their new teacher; the children are very excited about this! On Friday 8th July, KS1 will be having their Sports Day, please look at your letter to check which colour group your child is in. On Saturday 9th July it will be the school’s summer fair, Grovestock, planned by the PTA. This will be a really fun day for all the family so we hope to see as many people there as possible! Finally, it will be RED groups show and tell. As this is our final show and tell theme of the year, please encourage them to bring in something they are proud of or something that they have achieved!
