Permeability

Class 6 conducted an investigation yesterday to find out whether certain rocks are permeable or not.

The children designed the experiment themselves using a science planner. They decided to use a pipette to drop 10 ml of water on a rock and then observe whether the liquid went through the rock (which they then measured using a small measuring beaker) or whether the rock was non-permeable and the liquid ran down the sides of it.

We had good results and many of the rocks we had were permeable!

Well done Class 6!

Miss Land.
