Swimming Gala 2015

For another chance to have a shot at claiming victory, Park Grove’s  team of 8 (4 boys and 4 girls )  set off to Archbishops Holgate school  for the one and only, prodigious swimming gala. Tenseness lingered in the air whilst our competitors  reached agreement about their sly tactics. With everything under control, Park Grove’s first swimmer , Lucas T, took his place at the starting point ready for anything to be thrown at him. The race began and Park Grove were maintaining their position all the way through every single race with some astonishing and surprising sprinting!

Just as Park Grove were getting into the swing of everything, an unpredictable disqualification for one of the opposing teams lead Park Grove’s swimmer , Ivy , to take victory in the girls 25 metre Backstroke. From then on , the team were desperate to fulfill their potential and did their utmost to cheer the team on! With red hands and croaky voices , all the team could do now was wait and wait and wait as they remained on their feet for the upcoming results. With an unlucky miss of 3rd place, the team were determined to know their score. The shivering figures awaited their results and were the slightest bit disappointed by the fact that the margin was only a few seconds away from 3rd place. But that didn’t stop them being as loud as they could on the way back to school. ( Well some of them! )

A colossal well done to all the swimmers: Elly B , Ivy T , Lucas T , Martha J , Molly S , Tom C , Tom N and William G.
