Year 6 Leavers’ Table Tennis Tournament – The Final…
The eagerly awaited Year 6 leavers final took place on Monday lunchtime between Louie Powell and Chelsea Haskins. Both players had marched into the final without losing a set; the enthusiastic crowd were ready for a fabulous match. In the first set, Chelsea started the better taking a 5-2 lead but accurate forehand smashed winners from Louie ensured he took control and eventually won the set 11-7. The second set was a thriller with tactical rallies both forehand and backhand enthralling the crowd and unforced errors from Louie took the score to deadlock at 10-10. However a beautiful backhand winner from Louie meant he won the second set 12-10 and ultimately the title was his. A big thanks to my Table Tennis committee for organising, scoring and helping make the match and tournament such a success. Well done to Louie who has won his second title in five months!
