Amazing archaeologist!
Posted On 23 Nov 2016
As part of our topic, Stone Age to Iron Age, and as a surprise, the whole of KS2 had a very special Skype call today…from Kev, a real life archaeologist! He knew so much about how we have gathered evidence about life so long ago, and explained to us what evidence they had found and what they could deduce from artefacts….which even included fossilised poop!?
Class 9 – what can you remember from Kev’s call today? Did anything surprise you? Does anyone think they might want to be an archaeologist when they’re older?
I found all the facts fascinating!
I also really liked the artefacts!
I couldn’t believe they were authentic!
AND then I really enjoyed using inferring and deducing skills to guess what each one was!
I got a couple correct! 🙂 🙂 😀 😀 😛 😛 😉 😉
Now we know loads about them! I found it really interesting that the bone fish harpoon comes from Timor-Leste and comes from 35000BCE!
That’s the Palaeolithic era – 25,500 years before the Mesolithic era!
We enjoyed this assembly as it was fun skypeing an archaeologist but the fossilised poop was weird?
49 this was a great experience!
We should do it more often
Sorry I didn’t mean to put 49 on the text before
I remember his name-Kev(possibly short for Kevin)
