We really enjoyed learning about Bear Grylls this afternoon. What exciting facts can you remember about him from this session?!

He was born in 1974 on 7th June. When he was working with the SAS his parachute failed to open and he broke his back in three different places so he had to stay in hospotal for 18 months. He is involved with more than 15 charities. He was then the youngest person to climb Mount Everest at the age of 23. He hosted a dinner party in a hot air balloon 4.5 miles above the Earth. his real name is Edward Micheal.
He was the first youngest person to have climbed Mount Everest.
He has gone through things like eating snakes and insects to survive,wrestling alligators.
He is also a writer and he goes on tv for his story”Born Survivor”and his parachute failed to open so he broke his back in three different places.
He is involved in more than 15 charities.

I did not know that you could eat snakes.
I didn’t Know that he went on so many adventures!

He slept in a dead camels body to keep his self warm.

Mollie: I think that it is very interesting that Bear says Jesus is the source of his survival fire and that Bear had a dinner party in a hot air balloon.
Charlie: It is very interesting that he broke his back in three places because his parachute failed to open.And after eighteen months in a hospital he came out and climbed Mount Everest!
I learnt he is a scout leader and he nearly slipped of mount Everest.
My most interesting fact is that he hosted a massive dinner party in a hot air balloon 4.5 miles away from the earth.

Bear Grylls had a show on T.V called ‘born survivor’.It is called this because he always survived in his amazing adventures.He climbed mount Everest at the age of only 23.He set off a dinner party in a hot air balloon over earth.
