Additional Curriculum Information

Inclusion in the Curriculum

We ensure the curriculum is accessible to all our pupils and make adaptations for children with special educational needs (SEN). This may be done through small nurture groups, pupil passports or additional support for example. More information is available on the SEND information report page.

Religious Education

Within our curriculum overviews you will see information relating to our coverage of the RE (Religious Education) curriculum.

We recognise the importance of teaching RE in a creative, knowledge-rich, broad and balanced way. Learning activities provide fully for the needs of all pupils, so that they develop a wide range of skills including enquiry, analysis, interpretation, evaluation and reflection. They provide opportunities to engage in meaningful and informed dialogue with those of all religions and world views.

RE lessons provide a safe space to explore religious, spiritual and/or philosophical ways of seeing, living and thinking, believing and belonging.

We would hope that all children will enjoy participating fully in RE. We aim to provide an open curriculum which can be taught to all pupils, by all staff. However, parents have a right to withdraw their children from RE. If you wish to do this, please contact the school to discuss in more detail.
