Orienteering and map skills
Posted On 04 Jun 2015
We had a tremendous amount of fun following an orienteering course around the school grounds earlier this week. What were the challenges of our orienteering activity and what have you found out by creating maps of our classroom?
I found it quite tricky at the start to find where they were but as we completed more, and more I was able to do it easier.
Some of the skills are map reading, speed and memorizing numbers (Remembering which number you had to punch. 😉 😀 😛 🙂 😀 😛
I loved doing the birds eye view of the classroom because I loved locating the objects of the room.
We thought it was extremely fun and energetic! 😛
ralph:I loved the map reading 😀 🙂 🙂 Helen:I enjoyed this activity my group and I worked well.
We found out that when you are drawing a birds eye view you have to be extremely precise and careful
Our challenge was to use a map to find clip thing around the school.
Masha and I really enjoyed doing the orienteering
I think it has improved my orenteiring skills and my map skills!!
I have improved my map skills because at first I wasn’t that good but I got better.
