Forest schools planting carrots

As part of our healthly eating we planted carrots seeds in our forest garden. We worked in pairs to decide who would dig the hole and who would plant the seed. We can’t wait to see the seeds grow and eat the carrots.

Multiplication using Arrays

Arrays can be tricky but this did not stop Class 2 being very determined. We used peg boards to start with until we felt confident enough to write arrays in our maths books. On the second try we got it. Well done Class 2.

Making Pancakes

Class 2 used bossy verbs to give each other instructions to make pancakes. We looked at the recipe and decided what we needed, we then mixed and whisked to make the batter. Of course we had to try our pancakes and they were delicious!

Library visit

Making porridge for the Three Bears

We decided it was about time we made more porridge for Baby Bear, since naughty Goldilocks ate it all! The children followed instructions very carefully and made some excellent porridge using bossy words. Baby Bear was very happy and told the children it was just right.

3D shapes.

We explored properties of 3D shapes using matching cards. We had to decide how many edges, faces and vertices a shape has. We also had to name it correctly. The best bit was discovering all the different 3D shapes in our classroom.

Comparing objects by weight

We used our hands to compare the weight of objects we found around our classroom. Then we used the balancing scales to make sure we were correct and finally sorted the objects into light and heavy. We can say which object is the heaviest and which is the lightest.

Getting ready for Christmas.

We have had such a busy week making Advent calendars, Christmas paintings, mince pies and to round it all off we had a super Christmas dinner with party hats and crackers. To end the week we had an amazing Christmas party and a visitor from someone who lives in Lapland!
